Hi!,

Laksa paste is available form Tesco's and Sainsbury's and maybe some of the other large supermarkets. Go to the isle that stocks the curry sauces etc and you should find it there.

If not ask, my local supermarkets stock it regularly, it comes in a plastic pot a bit smaller than the pots of ready made stock (chicken beef, etc).

If you are still strugling to find it let me know and I will find out the brand name for you.

PhilTF

is it toothpaste?

A really great one is is Reuben Solomon's, available at hardtofindfoods.co.uk.
Otherwise, find it at specialist Oriental food shops.

:)

I ama former chef and used to eat Laksa in Singapore, I would check for a store that sells Indonesian store, or I can give you a recipe and make it, it can be kept in the frig for a couple of weeks or 2 months, just make sure to keep it covered.

The ingredients are easy to find, here is the link to the recipe on-line.

The best laksa is found in Malaysia. The one from Nyonya community and Penang Fujian tribe. Sweet and sour but subtle. Aromatic kaffir lime and mint leaves in addition to Indian mackerel, red onion, cucumber, red chillies and pineapple with dollop of prawn paste (Har Koh). I would suggest that you buy online from MyTasteOfAsia.com
