Cha yen (Thai iced tea)

Category: Asian, Beverages, Ethnic, Thai
Yield: 4 servings
4 cup Water
3/4 cup Thai tea
1 1/2 cup Evaporated milk
SUGAR SYRUP
1 cup Sugar
1 cup Water
Procedures
1 For the sugar syrup: combine the sugar and water in a small saucepan and bring to a rolling boil over high heat.
2 Reduce the heat to maintain an active simmer and cook until liquid has thickened and colored slightly, about 5 minutes.
3 Remove from the heat and cool to room temperature.
4 Pour the cooled syrup into a jar with a tight fitting lid, cover and store in the refrigerator for up to several weeks.
5 For the tea: in a medium saucepan, bring the water to a rolling boil, and place a heatproof 1-quart pitcher in the sink.

10 Pour the tea back and forth between the pitcher and saucepan 7 times as it becomes darker and stronger, ending up with the tea in the saucepan.
11 Rinse out the pitcher and strain the tea through a coffee filter back into the pitcher.
12 Add the syrup and stir to dissolve.
13 Cool to room temperature, cover, and chill until serving time.
14 To serve, fill tall glasses with crushed ice.
15 Add ? cup of the chilled thai tea per glass.
16 Top off each glass with 3 to 4 tablespoons evaporated milk.
17 Serve as the milk cascades over the ice and swirls into the tea.

hmm......

It's just condensed milk in iced tea (the thai variety tastes best)

Just go to the Asian market and buy it, much easier that way, and very tasty.

hi, i have made thai tea at home and believe me it tastes great . you must try this reicpie. HOpe i helped!!!!!!!!!
Thai iced tea

6 cups water
1 cup Thai tea leaves
3/4 cup sugar, or as needed
Crushed ice
1 1/2 cups evaporated milk or half and half
Bring water to a boil in a saucepan, add the tea leaves and remove pan from the heat. Gently stir the tea leaves to submerge them in the water. Let the tea steep for 5 minutes, or until it turns a brilliant orange and has a strong taste with no bitterness. Pour the tea through a coffee filter or fine mesh strainer into a pitcher. Add the sugar to the hot tea and stir well to dissolve completely. Set aside to cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate until ready to serve, or for up to 1 week.
To serve, fill tall glasses with crushed ice, add tea to fill about 3/4 of each glass, then pour about 1/4 cup of evaporated milk or half-and-half over the ice in each glass. Serve immediately.
