The European breakfast is express coffee, black tea or chamomile tea, a piece of bread and marmalade. It doesn't include orange juice.
The dinner is a pasta, a salad, a cup of wine and cheese to end the meal.

I don't know about dinner, but a breakfast would usually be what we in the US call a Continental Breakfast -- a croissant or a roll, maybe some fruit and/or juice, and coffee/tea/chocolate.

In France dinner often doesn't start till 8 or 9 pm. In Spain, it doesn't usually start till 10 pm. Maybe that's what they meant.

A typical European breakfast consists of bread rolls, butter, jam, ham, a soft-boiled egg, and coffee. Dinner usually consists a type of seafood in Spain, they use a lot of olive oil. In France there's a variety of soups and meats, they also use cheese and wine a lot.

Well my European dinner tonight consists of homemade lasagna. Lovingly made by my Italian wife. Yum - I am hungry already - I can smell it cooking in the kitchen already.
