Have you ever made sushi at home?!
Answers: I did last night and it was de...lish...us!!!
Yes, before, I hosted temaki zushi parties, my guests enjoyed the food very much.
Temaki zushi party - the guests roll sushi themselves, I just need to prepare the nori sheets, sushi rice, good quality sashimi, pickled ginger, miso soup and some side dishes (like green salad and Japanese pickles)

Yes, its quite time consuming but I really enjoyed experimenting with it. A lot of fun!
I made some by accident when I was cutting up some perch and turtles for fish bait and some of it accidentally fell in the salad. I thought something was peculiar when I found the evidence in the salad. I just yanked it out of there and went fishing with it anyway. Caught a hell of a mess of fish and since then I've told all my buddies how to make this new sushi/fishbait, I'm the local hero around the bayou. And as an added benefit, when you are out there for hours some days and getting hungry, well then, we're back to the sushi thing.
FReqently, you just have to have access to the right ingendients and a mat to roll the sushi
I make it quite often. We have sushi 2-3 times a week. Then take it for lunch the next day.
Yes-- fun the first time, but after the novelty wears off, it's hardly worth the trouble. You need access to REALLY fresh seafood which is expensive, so you really don't save much money. Getting the rice just right is a little tricky and you really need a steamer to get it perfect. Then, rolling takes a bit of practice. When all is said and done, it's a lot easier to just get take out from a good local place which also gives you way more variety.
