Is there something in Salsa that can make a person feel... high?!

Question: I just ate a bunch of chips with salsa, and I feel like I smoked a joint. I haven't smoked in almost 20 years... but I'm certainly feeling buzzed now.

Could it be the Salsa, or could something else be going on?

Honestly, this could be the reason I'm totally addicted to chips and salsa! I find that the spicy flavor from the peppers does lend a feeling of well-being which is nicely mimicked by weed. There are worse things than getting your happiness from salsa, my friend!

Did someone make some SPECIAL salsa hmm?

Someone either spiked your salsa with weed or maybe the capacin in the peppers had that affect on you.

Sodium and sugar..get some blood work done.. you may have diabetes or high blood pressure

I just hope you are safe with people you can trust,,,just in case

YES, HOT CHILI PEPPERS!!!!!

I heard somewhere that spicy foods help produce serotonin in your brain which can help make people feel pleasurable!

That sounds good. Must find some Pace!

Maybe you had old fashioned ABT(Alice B Toklas) brownies for dessert?

well there is such a thing as a chili high that is akin to a runner's high. You reach a certain pain level and your body dumps endorphins into your system and you feel a rush of pleasure. But usually it needs to be really hot and you need to eat a lot.

New meaning to salsa bowl.....

I don't know because I don't eat salsa. ha ha

Maybe the cilantro wasnt really cilantro...
But anyway, eating marijauna takes a good couple of hours to "come on" so If you just ate it, you probably wouldnt feel it yet.

It's possible. Everything consumed is of a certain chemical and can have reaction of some sort.

Wow, you got a feeling of being high from salsa? I have felt high off of foods before, its weird, but never salsa. That's a new one. LOL

I might have to try me some! ;)

Hot peppers can release "feel good" endorphins. I am putting Pace salsa on my grocery list!

You have just experienced an endorphin.high. A chemical released by the brain in response to eating hot pepper like foods.

Do not dip and drive.

Lucky you! To get a natural high from chips & salsa - things readily available & legal in the US. Hooray!

I find that a *really* good salsa with fresh chips is one of the absolute best things in life!

Happy munching, my friend, happy munching indeed!
