Why is Chinese food supposed to be the worst food??!
Answers: like whts bad about it?
In America, some of the most popular chinese restaurant/takeout dishes are extremely fatty. They are deep fried then covered with a fatty sauce. E.g. general gau's, fried rice.
This is not true of all chinese food (even in American restaurants). Many dishes are prepared with lots of veggies and stirfried meats that are not battered and deep fried. Many sauces are low fat. For instance, chicken or beef with brocoli is fairly low in fat and calories.
Avoid fried rice too. Go for steamed rice instead.
I've never heard that one before. Personally, I think lots of it is wonderful. And considering the number of Chinese restaurants in every country I've been to, and the popularity of the food I don't think that it really can be the worst.
It's not. American fast food is commonly regarded, by the rest of the world, as being the least tasty and most unhealthy food on the planet. I would just point out that Americans make up a small minority of the population of the world.
Chinese food is an enormously large and complex subject, and proof of how nutritious it is can be easily provided: China is the most populous country in the world.
Case closed.
I don't know that it is considered the worst. It is, however, rather high in sodium.
hmmm...because they have trouble getting dog and cat food right?... Just a joke...I like some Chinese stuff...
Depends on who says it the worst! I'm sure they don't think their foods are bad. I would be concerned about what they call chicken. It appears to a mystery meat to me. I stick with American food, pretty much.
Such a broad statement rejecting all food eaten by a large segment of the world's population indicates that the person making the statement is not sophisticated.
They contain high amounts of sodium, monosodiumglutamate, and many are fried or deep fried. But I love it anyway.Yum.
Chinese food is basically pretty healthful... if you eat it the way it is traditionally served.
If you gorge on the fried foods and eat Americanized dishes that have more salt, sugar and fat more than not, then you won't realize the benefits of the cuisine.
The only drawback was the use of MSG, which many have a reaction to and it is considered an unnecessary additive, so it has been phased out in the USA.
With rice as the base of the meal, with abundant vegetables and minimal animal protein, eaten in more reserved portions... compared to the regular American cuisine, it is "health food".
Regretfully, perpetually inhaling "junk food" and "super-sizing" our portions has turned eating more into a hobby than the function of life it should be.
In the US, Chinese food is made with a lot of sodium and oils. There are healthy alternatives, but most people like like the deep fried foods like sweet and sour chicken, general tsos... etc.
i disagree

I guess it depends on the restaurant.
Great Chinese restaurant do exist in California and New York, where satuation of Chinese immigrants are high when compare to inland America.
