Can I still get crabs?!

Question: back in Baltimore, you could get a bushel of live crabs and steam them with seasoning. it was great....but here in California they just don't have that. maybe I have to settle for cooked crab at joe's crab shack.

I don't know the answer but I'm glad you wasn't talking about what I thought you were talking about. WHEW! You had me worried!

Of course we have Crabs in Cali. Go to freeway 110 just go straight to Harbor freeway and you will find a restaurant there with live crabs. Name it they have it.

Crab in Baltimore is usally the smaller Blue crab while in California the larger Dungeness crabs are available and more expensive.

Personally, I like the larger Dungeness crab... to me they're sweeter and less work to get to the meat. Of course, people from Maryland/East Coast would disagree. :-)

Well- you know better than to ask this time of year anyway- but Faidleys and other B-more crab houses do ship all over the USA during crab season... But even here, alot of crabs are coming from Texas and lousiana becasue the bay has been so overcrabbed. So if you have a local fish market- ask, they may be able to special order you a bushel. Get some Old Bay, some butter, and some vinegar and lots of beer- and you'll be good to go.
