Hmmm...I cant really answer the first one. A family custom is roasting a lamb on a spit usually for Easter. Not a pretty sight, but its a tradition.
Traditional greek foods are gyro (pronounced yee-ro) and its usually chicken or lamb, onions and tzaziki on a pita. Like a big soft taco. Tzaziki is a sauce made from yogurt, dill, cucumber, and garlic. Moussaka is like a sheperds pie, with ground lamb, chopped eggplant, tomato topped with mashed potatoes and baked like a casserole. There is also Lamb Kleftiko which is lamb slow cooked with potatoes in a buttery sauce. (YUM) Theres horiaktiki, which is essentially greek salad.
The funny thing about greek food is youll find the identical dishes with the same or similar names in several other countries like Armenia and Israel. This may contribute to your question #1.
3. Gyros, lamb, hummus, tabuleh, kabob
IDK but greek people smell like lentils

Easter is a big deal in Greece. Probably the biggest holiday and it has many food traditions associated with it. Maybe you could talk about that.. http://ezinearticles.com/?A-Greek-Easter...
