Having used to serve Apfelstrudels for dessert, what is the more common store bought boxed filled pies called?!

Question: Curious as to a possible history on the boxed pastry, I am not sure how to explain it but I want pictures, market-brands and proper information.

All I can say it's boxed and sold for no more than .50 (US), often convenience stores/gas stations sell them. If not boxed I heard sold in a silk-wax like paper to keep fresh.

Other flavors of the filled pastry can be found: Apple-Common
Cherry & Lemon.

Thanks.

I don't know if you are referring to something I grew up with called Hostess Fruit Pies, in all different flavors. They come in a waxed paper type wrapping and are shaped dough with filling in side and a sugar glaze on the outside.
Hope this helps.
