I'd like to try Indian food. What's tastes good?!

Question: I would not start with the curry, it can very from restaurant to restaurant and may be too spicy until you get used to it. With all meals, there should be some yogurt dish to settle the 'fire' in case your food is too spicy. Cucumber Raita is made with yogurt and cucumbers and I always have a dish of it on the side.

For an entree, start with something tasty but mellow like tandoori chicken, Badami Murgh (Chicken with Almonds), or Butter Chicken.

Good veggie dishes are plentiful. I like the potatoes with cauliflower, potatoes with peas, potatoes with eggplant, etc. All delicious, especially if not over spiced. Most Daal dishes are good (lentils). Moong Daal Khichadi is a mixture of green split lentils and rice.

Indian breads are delicious! Try Naan (flatbreat), kulcha (stuffed flatbread), poori (fried bread), or paneers which are also usually stuffed.

Desserts are rich and will break your diet! I love Indian rice pudding (Kheer) which I have found on the menu of every Indian restaurant I have been in. Gajak is like a peanut brittle, usually made with pistachios. Halwah is like a pudding made with carrots. I like to put a little in a bowl, then cover with the kheer.

Hot chai tea is a must!!

American Indian or Asian India(n)

American Indian - Sious style - Dog Stew is good
American Indian - Navajo (Dine') - Mutton Stew or Roasted Mutton with Fried Bread; steamed corn; paper bread; roasted porcupine; etc.
American Indian - Apache - Acorn stew

I like Saag with chicken. Saag is a vegetable dish made with spinach, mustard greens, spicies, butter, cream. Alot of Indian restaurants have a lunch buffet. That would be the best way and least expensive way to try a variety of dishes at first. And don't be shy. Alot of vegetables that I hated I loved when they were prepared Indian style.

chicken bryani and chicken masala are the best especially with pita bread or naan mhmhmhmh

Onion Bhajias
Samosas (I like them spicy!!)
Chicken Tiki Masala (not REALLY Indian, but rather an English creation that tastes Indian)
And, I love a good Curry.

I love a good Indian lunch buffet. They usually have very common items and are mildly spiced and always a good value.
Good luck, Indian food is some of the best stuff in the world!

Indian food rocks!
Try Tandoori Chicken the worlds best known Indian dish
Then Butter CHicken
Chicken kabob
Reshmi Kabob/.....
