Question: do you know of any recipies from other countries?


i need one from my foods final.. we have to make something..
can you tell me the whole recipe and what country it is from.

PALACHINTA (Hungarian)
2 eggs
1/3 c. sugar
3 c. milk
2 1/2 c. flour
pinch of salt
Filling:
1 lb. cottage cheese
1 egg
pinch of salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
4 Tbsp. sour cream
sugar to taste
Mix batter and fry into very thin pancakes in hot fat.
Mix filling well and spread on the pancakes. Roll the pancakes
up and put in a square pan. Pour 1/2 pint of sour cream over
them and bake until the cream is baked into the pancakes.

INDIA:

MANGO LASSI

Yield: 2 glasses

Ingredients:

1 cup good quality yogurt (lowfat is fine)
1 cup of mango pieces (or ? cup of mango pulp)
pinch of saffron
2 tbsp sugar (to taste, can use Equal or Splenda)
handful of ice cubes

METHOD:

Using a blender, blend all of the ingredients until frothy.

VARIATIONS:

Try substituting pineapple to make Pineapple Lassi. You could also try papaya to make Papaya Lassi or even bananas to make Banana Lassi.

i make this all the time and its really good. its popular in hawaii.

ingredients:
1 can spam
1 pack seaweed
rice
soy sauce
oyster sauce
sugar

-in a small bowl, you take 1/4 cup soy sauce, 3 tbs oyster sauce, and 3 tbs sugar. stir well until dissolve.
-slice your spam in thin 10 pieces. then add your slices into the sauce. let it set and marinate.
-get a pan at medium heat. add your marinated spam and cook until its light brown.
-take your seaweed, cut in half. add rice onto your seaweed and add a piece of the cook slice spam on there and then roll it up.

[instead of one slice you can cut them in half = 20 slices, add the rice and put two piece of the spam, and roll them, and cut them in bite size..like sushi rolls]

its really good. it won't take long. delicious!

TURKISH DELIGHT

Yield: 1 servings

2 cups sugar
2 TBSP cornstarch
1 cup water
1/2 tsp.cream of tartar
1 TBSP flavoring
food coloring
1/2 cup toasted nuts, chopped
confectioners' sugar

***Flavorings: rose, mastic, strawberry, orange or lemon.
*** Food coloring: red, yellow, green or orange
(depending on flavoring used)
*** Nuts: almonds or pistachios

Dissolve sugar and cornstarch in water. Add cream of tartar. Boil to 220 degrees F. Cover pot the last 5 minutes. Add flavor and food color. Add nuts.

Pour into oiled shallow pan. When cool, cut into squares and roll each piece in sifted powdered sugar.
Store in plastic bag.
