Question: Anyone have some suggestions for healthy Thai food options? I'm going to a Thai resturant tommorrow and want to steer towards something lower in calories, fat and salt!

Most restaurants will be able to steer you in the right direction if you ask them. I always order eggplant and tofu . It is really tasty.So may people are on restrictions, they should be able to please you. Salt is hidden in so many recipes.
Feeling hot, hot, hot? Thai foods offer a variety of unusual fruits, vegetables and rice seasoned with herbs and spices to fire you up. If you’re watching your cholesterol, make sure not to order too many dishes made with coconut (it’s high in saturated fat).

Choose foods that are:
* Barbecued
* Lightly sautéed
* Broiled
* Boiled
* Steamed
* Braised
* Marinated
* Charbroiled
Choose foods made or served with:
* Basil sauce, basil, or sweet basil leaves
* Lime sauce or lime juice
* Chili sauce or crushed dried chili flakes
* Thai spices
* Pineapple (hollowed out)
* Fish sauce
* Hot sauce
* Napa, bamboo shoots, black s, ginger, or garlic
* A bed of mixed vegetables
* Scallions, onions
Ask for sauces on the side, not on the food. Thai restaurants usually offer a lot of tasy salads. Low in calories ans sodium as long as dressing is on the side!
Have fun!

Well is thia like chinese food?? If it is kinda like it maybe you could get a simple soup and noodles.

A perk of modern living is having so many restaurants to choose from. But with choice comes confusion. To help, here are tips for sensible eating at four of the most popular ethnic restaurant types.

Start with a broth-based soup, not one made with coconut milk.

Go light on any dishes made with coconut milk. Coconut milk is loaded with saturated fat -- 45 grams in 1 cup.

Choose dishes that have been stir-fried, grilled, or steamed.

Here's a good way to get your soy: steamed or baked tofu (make sure it's not fried) and vegetables.

The spring rolls are good. The only fat is in the little bit of lunchmeat and the shrimps in them, then you dip it into a peanut sauce.
Anything fried won't be that low in calories.
They do have meats on a skewer, which are relatively low in calories, and some salads.
Pad Thai is good except that it is noodles = carbs, which will tend to get you fat.

Simple. Just order thai vege/ fruit salad.
