- cantonese style sweet and sour chicken

thank you :)

Answers: - sweet and sour chicken
- cantonese style sweet and sour chicken

thank you :)

I would think they are the same...
However, if a restaurant is advertising a difference. I would think the Cantonese style sweet and sour chicken consist of deep fried chicken chunks, onion, pineapple, bell peppers in a neon red sweet and sour sauce.

The other sweet and sour chicken may just be sauteed chicken and a sweet and sour red sauce with minimal veggies.

Edit... I have to disagree that Cantonese food is spicier. Cantonese food is very mild, relying on sweet and savory flavors instead of peppers.

Cantonese food is spicier, so you will probably see some hot chili peppers in it.

Restaurants can name anything the way they like. (look at the way Olive Garden just makes up names).
In general, a Cantonese style dish is not spicy. It usually has deeper, more subtle flavors. If it was labeled Szechuan, it would be spicy. The simple "sweet and sour" gives you no suggestion.

If you were eating in a Szechuan restaurant, the menu could list both items and the sweet and cour chickenwould be spicy while the Cantonese sweet and sour chicken would be wihtout chili.
