Cullen skink soup - where can I buy a can of it in Glasgow?!
Answers: Burns Night is on Friday and before our Haggis, neeps and tatties I'd like to have some Cullen skink soup, we had it last year and it was delicious. I bought it from Morrisons last time but they don't seem to have it this year. Has anyone seen some?
Make it yourself! Cover 1lb smoked haddock in milk, season with pepper and simmer about 2-3 min. Meanwhile microwave about 1lb potatoes till soft. Remove fish and poach or preboil leek sections till tender (about 20 min) in the milk.
Add about 1 pint of chicken/veg/fish stock to the milk, then stir in the flacked haddie and mashed spuds.
I am sure I saw it in the supermarket a while back and I think it was made by Baxter's. You should look up their site for more info!
Make you own it will be well worth it as nothing can compare to home made Cullen Skink ..delicious. Next time your up on the Moray Firth visit Cullen near Banff there is wee shop that makes it just underneath the viaduct there..
If you do not have time to make it try a tin of Baxters...they are just down the road from Cullen and what they make is almost as good as real thing.

Your responder Azteccam has got the right recipe. Only difference to mine is I add about 2 oz of butter when the soup is ready and just before I serve.
It's only Wednesday here in Canada and it really is a quick soup to make as long as you have the ingredients on hand. Less than an hour.
Have a great night from an ex pat.
