Where can i salsa like at a mexican restaurant?!
Answers: the salsa at the grocery store just isnt very good
You could see if any of your favorite Mexican restaurants sell it. It doesn't hurt to ask.
-1 can petite diced tomatoes w/chile peppers.
- 1/2 fresh jalapeno finely chopped.
- 1/2 finely chopped onion.
- 2 Tblsp. fresh chopped cilantro.
- 1 Tblsp. chopped red bell pepper.
- 1 Tblsp. chopped green bell pepper.
Mix all in a bowl and chill.
YUM!
nothing is ever as good in a jar, can or box as home cooked.
try:
onion
tomatos
cilantro
jalapeno peppers
habanero peppers (very very hot so be careful).
this is how my mexican friend makes it and it's sooooo good, but again be careful how many habanero peppers you use....start with just a tiny bit and you can add more if needed.
As the posters before have mentioned, the best way to get good salsa is making it.
It is VERY simple, just use the nicest tomatos you can find and chilies. You can also add onions or garlic if you want.
You can chop your ingredients, blend them, whatever you want ! The combinations you can come up with are endless...
My only recommendation though... Try to grill your ingredients first.. your tomatos and especially your chilies, it will give your salsa an entirely different flavor.
Of course you are much pressed for time, try to get some in a supermarket or whatever, I really like this particular salsa: http://www.mymexicanpantry.com/salsa-taq...
But whenever you can, try to make your own !
You can salsa anywhere you like; just turn up the music and go!
