Who dips their "fries " in gravy? Is this any kind of gravy? I've heard in Canada?!

Question: that there is a dish of fries served with gravy on them. Anyone know about that?

Yes, we have gravy for our french fries. Normally a brown gravy....

Have you ever heard of a poutine! yum! It is french fries, gravy and cheese curds. So darn good! I am in Quebec City home of la poutine!

Check out some pics....

why not you put gravy over potatoes. sounds pretty good to me.

In the UK chips and gravy is very common, it is brown meat gravy and very nice!!! We also get chips and curry sauce or mushy peas too. (Uk chips are like US Steak Fries)

I am from Texas and I "Dip" my fries in gravy. I also enjoy dipping my fries in mustard. I have never heard of a dish being made like that. I just might have to experiment now! LOL Thank you very much...

i have a friend who loves to eat that whenever she visits Canada--it is actually a real dish but i can't think of the name of it---it is fries with cheese curd and gravy. around here in
PA, we like to eat fries with chili, onions, cheese, and gravy.

Umm, where are you from that they DONT dip fries in gravy? Yes it could be any kind of gravy.

We also have a dish called poutine which is french fries with cheese curds and gravy poured over the top. It's ooey gooey good.

fries with cheese and gravy is called a poutine.

Dipping fries in gravy is very common anywhere... but there is "poutine" which is cheese (usually graded) with gravy on top of that, melting the cheese. It's not really a meal, more like cafeteria food. I get it when i go snowboarding!
Not the healthiest thing in the world though.

I love my fries dipped in real beef gravy. Even better - order Poutine (fries topped with cheese curd and slathered in beef gravy so the cheese melts) YUMMY !!!!!

If you're in a real pinch and can't get lovely, squeeky white cheese curd, use shredded Mozzarella cheese instead.

Yup -- in Canada one dish that's quite common (and fattening!) is Poutine. This is French fries sprinkled with cheese curds and covered with gravy. Usually it's beef gravy. Don't like Poutine much myself, but it's very popular at many fast food joints.

the name of that dish is POUTINE. is a traditional french canadian dish, and it's made with home fries, toped with curds of cheese, and then pouring the hot brown/beef gravy on top to melt the cheese. its very good, but it's not aproved by jenny craig or slim fast plans.

i've never heard of that, but i dip my fries in mayonnaise

I don't know I have never had fries with gravy, it must be a canadian thing. I saw it there when I visited Toronto this past year. Alot of people mentioned they eat fries with gravy

that is so freakin nasty and sick i would never eat it
