Can you suggest a couple of traditional Chinese selections of music?!

Question: We homeschool our three kids. Our kids choose a "spotlight" country each month. We study the country and its culture, try the food, prepare a recipe, listen to some music, colour the flag and try to meet someone from that country. Our "spotlight" country this month is China. Could you suggest some music to us? We use iTunes.

I'm no expert in Chinese culture, however, it seems that all Chinese people, both young and old, know of the music of Teresa Teng (in Chinese "Deng Li Jun").
You can find a whole lot of her songs here http://teresateng.org/Songs.html
Might I suggest "Yue liang dai biao wo de xin" "月亮代表我的心" meaning 'the moon [yue liang] represents [dai biao] my [wo de] heart [xin]'
Perhaps "Tian mi mi" (sorry not sure what this means) and "Zai jian wo de ai ren" meaning 'goodbye [zai jian] my [wo de] love [ai ren])

If you are looking to also sample modern chinese music, Jay Chou/Chow (in Chinese 'Zhou Jie Lun') is amazingly popular.

I hope you guys have a nice time while spotlighting China =)

An example of traditional Chinese music is from a famous band called The Twelve Girls Band. Although they do a fusion of modern music using traditional Chinese instruments, their music would give you a glimpse on the rich varieties of Chinese music.

Chinese music is really hard to find on iTunes. I've never found any. Youtube.com is a good place to find some, though. Just search 'traditional chinese music' and you'll find a lot. However is one song that I particularly like. http://youtube.com/watch?v=cIJrqFeb4qM
It's actually an African singing this song, lol , but his chinese pronunciation is perfect.
Then there's the Twelve Girls Band which the user in front of me was talking about. Here's one of their videos: http://youtube.com/watch?v=TOpgzm24QUg

Edit: Here is a site with a bunch of chinese songs both traditional and modern. It's a very good site.
