One of my favorite would be the "Spicy Tuna Roll" but I would not suggest it to a beginner. A good one to try is the California roll, commonly known throughout nearly all Sushi restaurants, it is made with imitation crab. Another good one to try is the Philly Roll, another personal favorite, made with Salmon, it is a raw fish, but it is also made with cream cheese, so it tastes quit delicious. If your Sushi restaurant has something called a yellowtail and scallion roll, I would highly suggest it.

As mentioned above, I do not think the Spider Roll would be a good one for a first-timer. It usually is a bigger sushi peice. It is made with eel, although it is wonderful, it should be eaten with someone who has got chopsticks down completely, and someone who has tried a variety of things.

Just to let you know, unless you are not allowed to have hardly any sodium at all, use the natural soy sauce, rather than less sodium. The health benefits are not much, and low sodium ruins the taste of the roll.

Well if you want sushi but no raw fish.... Try Spider Roll. It is tempura soft shell crab. California roll of course is pretty basic but all cooked. They are named something different at each place, but I've seen smoked salmon/cream cheese rolls a lot. We had crab/asparagus rolls the other night and the crab was cooked. There are of course vegetarian rolls too.

My kids love left over meat rolls with soy .

no raw fish really limits you- eel and cucumber, salmon skin, california are all fully cooked rolls, but you should give it a try- just try- salmon and avocado. If you have a fav. sushi joint, ask them to make the first time with smaller salmon pieces and bigger avocado, you will enjoy and work your way up!
