Hi, fellow West Virginian.

I bought kosher salt from Kroger to make hummas last year.

our Kroger closed, but they use to.

Our Kroger does carry it, but if you have coarse sea salt you can substitute with that.

Yes, you can, and yes, you can substitute sea salt for it.

yeah i am sure you can find it at krogers.

Kosher salt is sold everywhere Morton Salt is a common brand,
it is a larger grain and there are no additives, such as iodine'.,,

Yes you can substitute sea salt for Kosher salt. See this info from Michael Chiarello (TV chef):
"I prefer to use [gray] sea salt over kosher salt. Sea salt can be used for all recipes calling for Kosher salt, and better, more flavorful, and healthier results will be achieved....So sea salt versus Kosher salt is like whole-wheat flour versus white flour."

I'm sure Kroger's will have Kosher salt. They have many other Kosher products.

Have fun!
