Do you like or hate KIMCHI?!
Answers: I noticed some people dont like it but some love it why ? Do you hate that food?
The favorite kimchi vegetable is Chinese (or Napa) cabbage. The Koreans ferment it in enormous quantities. They then pack the kimchi into huge earthenware jars, bury the jars in the ground up to the neck, and cover the lids with straw until the kimchi is needed. Kimchi almost always includes hot pepper, usually dried and either ground or crushed into flakes. Because the ground dried hot pepper sold in Korean markets is generally fairly mild, Koreans can use generous quantities. Some of the Mexican (and New Mexican) ground peppers now sold in supermarkets are comparable. If you can't find ground pepper with a moderate heat level, you might combine sweet paprika and cayenne to suit your taste.
So in other words everyday a Kim chi keeps the doctor away! Enjoy!
love it
I love Kimchi and it is good for your health. I wouldn't live without it. I think eating it while growing up has something to do with it. Fermented foods also provide the body with good enzymes and kimchi also has a lot of vitamin C, which during the winter was difficult to get in Korea.
The benefits of kimchi are innumerable. You can pickle once a month and have enough for the whole month. Making it though is quite a challenge.
I love it. I make my own.
Yes, its really tasty as a side dish with steak or chicken or just with soup like saimin! I think you would have to like spicy things in order to acquire the taste for it.
I don't know, I've never tried it, but my mom used to eat it a lot during my childhood. I once watched my brother try it and he ran to the fridge to chug down some milk. I guess that's why I cringe when I see people eat it.
I only had to take but one taste to learn that appreciation of this Korean delicacy is definitely an acquired taste. I thought my head would explode. I am a "spice wuss".
i love kimchi! why? because it's the best side dish in every korean meal. it's readily available in korean grocery stores (we have a lot here in makati, philippines), it's fun to eat, contains a lotta vitamins! it prepares your palate and tongue for the even better korean food to come :)
I love kimchi, even though I am not Korean. I simmer broiled fish in it, add it to ramen noodles, eat it with roasts abd BBQ. It's good for digestion, and provides Vitamin C and fiber.
I love it! I even put it on burgers sometimes.
i did not taste that bfore..now, im beginning to be curious how it tastes.....
i like it but not too much
nah, i don't really like it . . . i just don't like pickled things.
Not too fond of pickled veggies.
I like it a lot. I love eating it with white rice. Korean restaurants have this soup with beef and kimchi in it, really good. Now I'm getting hungry for some kimchi.
Im an aussie and I love kimchi, its great in salads, on a sandwhich, on a steak, with chicken and fish just a good all round accompaniment
Kim Chee is da bomb and is easy to make on your own.
I myself like it! After living in South Korea for a couple years, you learn to like it because it's served with every meal.
Frank P's answer was great, but there's also such a thing as summer and winter kimchee. And in addition to that, every family in S. Korea has their own special recipe. You could eat at one restaurant and the kimchee was perfect, then go to another and think "oh I'll never eat this again!"
The spices and the fermentation process are the key-IMHO.
