There is this kind of seaweed that looks like noodles, what is the name of it?!

Question: My mother in law served it with rice. The seawood was kind of spicy (I guess it was the seasoning), dark green and looked like noodles. What is the name of it? Thanks.

Oh and a recipe would be great too.

I'm wondering if you're talking about wakame. It's typically served blended with red pepper flakes and sesame seeds as an accompaniment to sushi, although I can imagine it being very tasty with plain rice as well!

Hope you find what you're looking for.

if they were thick like spaghetti noodles, try going to the filipino store. i think i know what you are referring to. as far as a recipe goes.... i dont have a good one. i know i've eaten something similar to it at my moms house.

What you are referring to is probably called "Lukot" and is not actually seaweeds, but the secretions of the "dongsol" which is a sea hare.

My brother served this to us in Palawan as a salad. When it comes from the market, put in the ref right away. Just before serving, rinse in cold water, sprinkle with calamansi or lemon juice and serve as a salad. Yummy.
