Thai cuisine is considered among the world's most delicious, with a unique blend of particular tastes: hot (spicy), sour (piquant), sweet, and always highlighted with citrus (lemongrass and lime), coconut and peanuts.

Thai food is really A+. It's a delicious cuisine that combines a complex myriad of tastes in a single dish, they balance sweet, spicy, sour, salty. It's not similar to Chinese food at all, but more like Indonesian, Singaporean or Indian dishes.

Thai food has alot of vegetarian and non veg dishes, lots of curries, rice and noodles dishes, delicious soups and salads...

You must try it at least once, I am sure you will enjoy it.

it's a different cuisine, so it wont be that close to chinese, maybe some similar ingredients.

Raw? Don't think so, and def. not in restaurants.

I think it's fantastic! beware, it tends to be spicy

lots of vegetables, fresh herbs, curries, and coconut milk
I love it. Its almost addicting

Thai food is almost similar to the French food like ( Thai Chicken Curry ). The traditional pan for stir fry cooking is the wok. Thai curries are generally hotter than East Indian curries, but this westernized version is a bit milder. All the meat is the same as western but cooked differently. And good luck.

not related to chinese...but they use soy sauce for some dishes......more like indian in taste due to curries n spices.....they use a lot of basil....which just tastes awesome....try it out!

Unless you go to a vegan thai restaurant, I don't think the food is raw. It's like Chinese food in that they use woks for a lot of their cooking and like Indian in that they have curries. But the taste are much more different.
Instead of chowmein, they have pad thai (peanutty flavor) and pad kee mao (spicy fat noodles). And unlike Indian restaurants, a lot of the curries in Thai restaurants use coconut milk which give it a sweeter taste.
I would probably eat it everyday if I could.

most asian food rooted from chinese food and eventually develop its own flavor. china greatly influence the cultures in most asian countries.
i am chinese but i actually prefer thai food when the food is authentic and available. thai use spice/herbs such as lemon grass, curry, Tamarind, cilantro, basil and fish sauce, coconut milk, etc. their jasmine rice is fragrant and very appetizing.
you could find a few raw food dishes but you can avoid those by simply asking the question.

Thai food consist a lot of fish sauce, herbs and the spices from the local area, mostly a lot of greens, there are a few raw seafood dished as I recalled but not a lot at all so typically less fat contain and lighter. It is not similar to chinese food because in Thai cuisine, there are no flour or constarch in the sauce. The food could be spicy it is depends on the degree of the heat of the consumer.

fresh herbs like basil and lemon grass, chiles, coconut milk, fish sauce, all complex flavours. thai foods are typically cooked in the quick manners like frying, blanching, steaming, and parboiling which emphasize the freshness of ingredients. heavily influenced by china, korea, india, and europe.
