Chinese dumpling?!

Question: HOw many calories are in chinese dumplings?

Answers: HOw many calories are in chinese dumplings?

it depends on if they are fried of steamed. fried ones obviously would have more calories than steamed ones. i'm not sure on the exact calorie content though

probably somewhere from 150-200 per dumpling

150-200 calories for a single dumpling? Must be one HUGE dumpling!

The Costco and grocery stores near us sell LingLing brand Chinese potstickers made with chicken and vegetables. They claim one serving of dumplings (about 6) is about 300 calories. However, I'm sure that's for steaming or boiling them. If you pan-fry or deep-fry them, it'll be slightly higher due to the (small) amount of oil that's absorbed.

The calories depend on: thickness of dough or skin, filling, and method of cooking (whether fried or steamed).

There are veggie dumplings, pork dumplings, sharks fin dumplings, shrimp, etc.

Some dumplings have thin skin, others have thick skins.

Some dumplings are steamed, others are pan fried, a few are deep-fried.

Steamed vegetable dumplings should have the least amount of calories.

The ones I buy have about 250 calories for about 8. I like mine with hoisin sauce which adds a few more.
