What are some easy Chinese food recipes?!
Answers: I want to acknowledge Chinese New year with my family and thought I'd try making some Chinese food. I have Won Ton Soup and Chow Mein, maybe a chicken dish??
stir fry is universal.you can put anything in it and it is good.i love egg rolls, but dumpling are the best.get wonton wraps and stuff them with chinese pickled cabbage(it comes in a jar and is usually in the produce section)steam them in a pan with a small amount of oil.
hehe your gonna need at least 6 dishes... Chinese New Year Dinner should have lots of dishes...
Something easy you can do...
Get take out and put it in a nice plate and say you cooked everything...
buy food that looks easy to make
include some rice, and some fish!
I make a killer fried rice if you want to try it...
You will need:
Cooked rice cooled. Cook it so it's fully cooked but NOT too wet.
Bean sprouts
A good quality frozen peas
Dark sesame oil
Soy sauce...I prefer kikkoman light
Chopped yellow onion
Chopped green onion
A can of chicken or beef broth depending on which meat you use...chicken for the chicken or shrimp...beef for the beef or pork.
A few eggs, lightly beaten and set aside
And then meat of choice...you can use chicken, pork, beef etc...but we prefer small uncooked shrimp. If you use one other than the shrimp you want to be sure the meat is un-cooked and sliced in small pieces.
Saute yellow onions in sesame oil on med heat. When they are tender put the heat higher. Put shrimp...or whatever meat in pan and saute until just about cooked and then add green onion, peas and bean sprouts. Lower heat a little if you need to.
Put cooled rice on top and sprinkle a little more sesame oil and splashes of broth as needed while you cook it so that it's not "dry". You don't want it "soupy", just not too dry. Saute until all is mixed well and rice is good and hot and everything is is nicely mixed and cooked through. Sprinkle soy sauce and mix well...gently...keep adding until you get the desired flavor. Then push all the rice around the sides of the pan until there is a well in the center and pour in the egg. Stir the egg while it heats and starts to set a bit and then start to gently mix into the rice. Once the egg is cooked into the rice you are ready to eat.
