What are dumplings made of?!

Question: A friend of ours told us it's made out of duck meat. But my boyfriend is pretty sure it's not. (He doesn't feel comfortable eating duck meat). We're in the U.S. by the way.

Well, chinese dumplings typically are made with ground pork. Some chinese restaurants make them, by request, with ground chicken and most restaurants also have vegetable dumplings..never heard of duck meat dumplings....

regular dumplings are made of flour and egg....they can be stuffed with duck meat or anything you'd like

Dumplings are pastry. They can be big and fluffy, or thin like pie crust. Any number of things can be added to the big fluffy ones to render them more savoury, though I've never heard of duck meat dumplings.

You have to be more specific, as there are hundreds or thousands of dumpling varieties all over the world.

There's the simple flour-and-water dumplings on American chicken stew; vegetable, pork or beef potsticker dumplings; Gnocchi, Pirogi, Char Shiu Mai, etc.

There probably is a dumpling somewhere that uses duck meat stuffing. Rare, but possible.

Usually ground spicy pork.

either pork or chicken
