Difference between traditional and contemporary restaurant?!

Question: in terms of service and style

Answers: in terms of service and style

My take is a contemporary restaurants tries to blend flavors - fusion between a base culture and another, for example Asian and French. Also, the plates are artically arranged using various plating techniques - stacking high, using sauces to create patterns, garnishes for color. Also, did I mention price? Price is usually higher. Other names for a contemporary restuarant is posh, high-end, foo-foo, tre chic, "pretty plates, but where's the food" type of place.

Traditional restaurant implies kind of a family style restaurant or a restaurant that serves recipes closer to their original origins.

contemporary restaurant...there is no service. most are self serve!

Traditional iguess would be a normal restaurant .Contemp Rest. could by rest.with a theme

In the traditional restaurants the food are prepared with "original" recipe and in the contemporary they use the "original" recipe as base and create new flavors.
