Chinese kung pao sauce is it spicy, how would you describe the flavor?!
Answers: I'd describe it as a savory, slightly sweet sauce. It can be spicy depending upon how spicy you order it.

Yes it is spicy, but the real heat from a traditional kung pao (gong bao) dish comes from the many dried chillies used in the stir-fry. The flavor is probably close to BBQ sauce with chilli sauce added, like a BBQ sauce that kicks butt :)
