Are French Sables easy to make?!

Question: I'm supposed to cook something for French class for a project...so are these easy to make? Do they come out well? Is chocolate or vanilla better? Any other recipe suggestions?

They're relatively easy, but in order to get the curved shape, you have to wrap them around something like a wooden spoon handle while they're still hot, as soon as they come out of they oven. Which means that a lot of "ow, ow,ow" sounds will come out of your kitchen for about half an hour. Chocolate truffles are good (and French) too. Or how about chocolate croissants? Not sure what kind of a pedigree the 'chocolate' croissant has, but croissants are indisputably French.
