Since America has lots of Italian, Mexican, French, Tai , etc Restaurants, do these countries have "American"!
I'm not talking about McDonalds, but actual restaurants that the natives in, say Italy, would refer to as an "American " restaurant?
If so, what kind of food would they serve?
Answers: restaurants?

Apart from McDonalds, in Italy the only other "American" restaurant can be a "steak house", though more than to America as a whole is considered more related to Texas (advertises say it by purpose, of course).
pretty much no. what foods are solely american? hamburgers are german, pizza is italian, etc. Tomatoes and popcorn are pretty much the only true american food, and that wouldn't fill out a menu too well.
Since "American" cuisine is a mixture of many different cultures why not sample them in their native lands? Having traveled thru the Mediterranean and most of western Europe, I can tell you that I can eat anything over there and still feel at home.
I've sampled all types of foods and enjoyed the diversity of them all. Being from eastern PA, I grew up eating German foods and was happy to know that they made the trip across the Atlantic without much change.
Off the top of my head, I'd say "American" restaurants in foreign countries would have stuff like barbecue, pot roast, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, cornbread, greens, pinto beans, etc. Stuff that would be referred to as "soul food" or "country cooking" by most people.
nope not at all
