How did we ever got sold on eating Sushi?!

Question: Is that really human food?

Answers: Is that really human food?

I like most all foods (anchovies, snails included) but I had never tried eating Sushi. So when given the chance I tried it....and I was surprised to find that I didn't like it.....and I was left wondering why it was so popular....I didn't find it repulsive...I just thought it was blah....

I'm still not sold on it.
A good shrimp cocktail is as close to sushi as I get.

I like it. What's your problem with it?

Well, humans eat it every day, so that qualifies it as human food. Personally, I think KFC or McDonalds should not be eaten by humans. I could not live without sushi.

what is your problem..??
thousands of people enjoy it every day

Don't say we. I wouldn't be able to swallow dead fish if I was starving. It looks cool but eeewww!

One of the wonderful things about living in a multi-ethnic society is the variety of food! You are free to like or dislike anything you want. Just because YOU don't care for something doesn't mean it's not human food.

It's human food; and it's better for you than most of what American's eat. (Mix of vegetables, rice, spices, and fresh fish, if it's to original recipe.)

I've tasted it here, and in the country from which it has originated, and I love the stuff!

Though I must say, it is an aquired taste for some.
Once you learn the differences in recipes, and how to taste them, it's one of the best Asian cuisines out there.

(Try some Sake with it to add some "zing")
(Add Wasabi to add a short explosion of "Pow" to clear out the sinuses.)

"human" food is anything you eat that will keep you alive. Theoretically that includes liver, as well as sushi.

I'm with Bluesea...not sold on it either!
Raw fish???
It has to be battered and fried crisp for me!

Sushi, the welcome Japanese invasion to the US. Back in the 60s in LA there were a few Japanese sushi bars. They popped up in beach cities and were a huge success, especially the California Roll with the slice of avocado inside.

sushi is pretty straight up , i love it , we slowly got sold on the fast food cr*p , i know that's not human food

sushi is great
end of story.

We didn't get "sold" on it, the fish served as sushi or sashimi is typically FAR higher quality than that sold frozen as "fish sticks", or any cooked fish in a restaurant ("Chef, this cod smells a bit funny..."/"Just put some extra sauce on it, boy, and take it out...")

Good sushi is GOOD!

Because I'm not afraid of trying something different.

um, yes it is human food. For the people who say that sushi is all about raw fish. Do some research. There is sushi that is purely vegetarian. You can order veggie sushi which is pretty good. You can also make your own sushi which can be made from mushrooms, cilantro, carrots, ect which is actually not bad.

Of course it is human food. Maybe you don't know this but...Sushi refers to the RICE. So if you eat rice daily you are very close to eating Sushi. The raw fish is called SASHIMI.

I'm still not sold on it either. I love chinese food but I just won't go there. I've got into a lot of arguments with my friends for not trying it, but they always get over it.

I never did. Raw fish that tastes like metal? No thank you.
