What do fish eat?!


Question: By saying fish I mean the likes of Haddock and cod you know white fish most people eat with chips and mushy peas. My sister hates all fish and says its because they eat s hit the floats about in the sea I said thats not true they eat little pieces of plankton and other tiny food sources that float about down there. Who is right?

You are more correct. Fish eat plants and smaller marine life (i.e. krill), they pick on the remains of their unlucky friends. Tell your sister to research eating habits of all animals- they generally don't distinguish between poop and non poop! Pigs are the dirtiest and bacon tastes delicious!

some fish are bottom feeders, so yes they eat poo.
Fish do eat plankton but i think majority eat other fish that are smaller than them.

as for haddock-- they eat crabs, sea urchins, worms, and clams and rarely eat other fish

cod- eat other cods, haddock, crabs, lobsters, mussels, worms, mackerel, etc

they eat smaller fishes

planktons, algae, sea weeds, commercial feeds, insects, worms and fishes smaller than them

hmm, I don't know
