This reminds me of a scene from a Singaporean English TV comedy. This poorly educated ex-contractor had a life-long dream of having his own food stall selling Hainanese chicken rice. He finally opens his new business with great excitement. By the end of the first day, there is not even a single customer, which is strange as Singaporeans love their chicken rice. A friend dropping by his stall realises why: his stall signage proclaimed in huge letters "Chicken Lice". Any wonder that prospective customers flew away faster than flies & fled like mice ?
But a word of caution. Especially in the country of origin, don't just chuckle at the peculiar English translations on menus or think it's only a typo, it could very well be the real literal deal. Just don't kick up a fuss or offend the natives by obviously spitting it out or puking.
