Does anyone else find they don't enjoy food they have cooked themselves?!
Answers: Despite everyone else raving over it I might like to add!!!
I'm a chef so yes. I prepare award winning food at work and then end up having beans on toast or a take-away at home!!
yes
It tastes much better when someone else makes it for you!
Yes. Especially fish lamb or sea food.
that's a description of me.
yuppers
Me!
I get sick and tired of smelling it by the time its done - unless I'm famished..
Yes I know what you mean but nothing tastes as good as when its stolen from someone elses plate.
I love my own food i cook. I know it is cooked properley and has flavor to it.
All the time. Dont know why but its true.
Yeah. I'm one of 8 people in my house, and they all love my cooking, but I eat it and don't think it's good at all...
I don't know why.
Yes every time I cook a sunday dinner.I cannot eat it.lol
I've done this at time or two.
My spaghetti, meatloaf, stir-fry, almost any food I make actually, everyone in my family and all my friends love it, but it just doesn't taste as good to me
Yes!! I have always found that strange, I spend hours cooking something yummy, then when we sit down to eat, I really dont want it for some reason,,,
yes wen someone else is cooking it tastes so much better but wen i cook for myself i dont enjoy it
yes, mainly its because i've looked at it for so long
Thats because you know what you wanted it to taste like. If something is a little bit off you know it and would like to make it better.
Some times, especially if I have sent ages cooking a big meal for all the family. I often sit down and just don't fancy eating it.
i cant cook for my life so i never enjoy anything i like and everyone eles hates it to
The biggest reasons are:
1.You are surrounded by the smells and adapt to it (as is normal) so the gradient of smell/taste isn't as large as it would otherwise be (weird, but if you spent all day at a garbage dump, after a while you wouldn't even smell the garbage; it's true).
2.You just worked hard and are tired, I guess
3.You are overly critical of your work or other people's approval of said work.
Mostly I think it's #1 and it has happened to me.
Yes sometimes My boyfirend loves the way I cook and his boys too but everytime I cook it I always think theres something wrong.
I always enjoy what someone else has cooked, even if I know it was'nt as nice if I cooked it myself, that sounds ungrateful, but I don't mean it too.
No, I'm not sure if its a sense of accomplishment that makes it taste better or the lack of preservatives or other additives that makes the taste more appealing. Either way I would much rather eat food I prepare than from a drive-thru or take out any day.
Yes, I don't really enjoy eating what i have cooked, especially if it has taken a long time to prepare.
By the time it comes to do the eating I am so sick of even the concept of whatever food it is my appetite for it has quite gone.
Cooking is hard work and all the blood goes to your muscles... leaving your stomach alone.
This means you stomach is switched off by the time the food is ready to eat.
I suggest finishing coooking in advance and keep it warm while you go and sit down and relax with the guests for a glass or two, giving your stomach time to warm up.
it depends. i can make a couple of kick butt meals but i do enjoy people cooking for me better. especially if it's healthy cooking!
BIG TIME DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yeah thats so true
No. I prefer food I have cooked myself to food someone else has cooked simply because I have put the effort in to make it.
I do enjoy the food I've cooked, but mostly if it's something I can eat the day after, like a cake or chilli (which gets better fro the next couple of days after it's cooked). Food never seems to taste as good when you've just finished cooking.
