Does anyone else think kimchee is...?!

Question: the food of the gods? I'm pregnant and have been craving bucket loads of the stuff. I've eaten it in large quantities every day for the past week. Not recommended, pregnant moms, because we all know what cabbage does, but alas, I cannot stop myself.

I love Kimchee. As a pregnant woman your body probably need a lot of extra vitamins. And Kimchee probably has those vitamins, Which would explain the craving. The only thing I would watch for is the salt. Kimchee can be high in salt. Although it may be the salt you are craving...Enjoy!

I think kimchee is a small furry animal thiat lives in a rain forest.

I was introduced to kimchee by an old girlfriend. I have loved it for the last 30 years. Go girl!

Introduction
The Koreans discovered kimchi, a dish made from fermented vegetables, when they were looking for methods to keep provisions over the winter. Today it is known as one of the world’s healthiest foods. The following describes how to make it with cabbage.
Instructions

Things You'll Need
3 tablespoons of pickling salt
6 cups of water
2 lbs. Chinese cabbage, cut into 2-inch squares
6 scallions, slivered in 2-inch lengths
1 1/2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger
2 tablespoons dried hot pepper
1 teaspoon sugar
Steps
1 Step One Dissolve the 3 tablespoons of salt into water.
2 Step Two Put the cabbage into a large bowl and pour over the brine. Let it stand for 12 hours.
3 Step Three Drain the cabbage, reserving the brine. Mix in the remaining ingredients.
4 Step Four Pack the mixture into a 2-quart jar. Pour in the brine until the cabbage is covered.
5 Step Five Push a freezer bag into the mouth of the jar. Pour in the remaining brine.
6 Step Six Seal the bag and let the kimchi ferment in a cool place for 3 to 6 days.

omg yes!

Oh yeah. If you're craving fermented foods like kimchee, you might need some probiotics for your digestive system.
Get a bottle of acidophilus from a health food store, the dairy free kind.

It won't hurt the baby, and it'll help your digestion, and it even helps ease gas.

Kimchee is addictive. Salty, spicy and sour. goes with almost everything.
BUT, my roommate dated a Korean lady, when she arrives our house, i can actually smell her, even she wears perfume trying to cover it... she smells like kimchee and i am not kidding! So please consume with moderation :)

Sorry, but I think it stinks and tastes terrible!

delic!!!

Gross.

You dont have to have cabbage kimchee...you can have bok choy kimchee, cucumber kimchee...kimchee fried rice....kimchee tofu soup (my fav)...

never tried it, but now I must .....sounds great

i adore kimchi! i don't get the fuss why people think it smells overpowering and nasty, or being too spicy. it's just the perfect combination of coldness and crunch with subtle spice. only thing i hate is the stains it leaves me with on my lap at korean restaurants haha :) and i know it's pleasing to the koreans to hear a white person ask 'can i have more kimchi please?'
