I'm thinking of taking my wife out to an Indian resturaunt called Spice of India. What's your thoughts of!

Question: Indian food?

Answers: Indian food?

Indian food is fantastic. If you are new to it, start with something nonintimidating like chicken or lamb curry or chicken tikka masala. Tandoori chicken is another good dish. Ask them to keep the spices on the mild side.

Make sure to get yourself some Naan bread on the side. It's really fresh and good.

Enjoy!

well.....i don't really think indian food is that good...i mean my friends like it but i get like...*barf* when i eat them IN MY OPINION

If she is not adventurous, order stuff that could be served with the curry sauce on the side.

Or try chicken tandoori, it is marinated in yogurt and spices then cooked inside a special clay oven.

Try the many different chutneys, sauces and pickles.

I love Indian food. Try samosas. They are fried pastries with potatos, peas and curry. Also naan bread is excellant. I love all curries but sweet curry (with coconut milk and raisins) is my favorite!!!! Served with jasmine rice, mmmmm yummy.

I have only eaten at an Indian restaurant once, but I absolutely loved it. It was amazing. We had the bread appetizers with the yogurt dipping sauce, sorry I don't know the names. It was really good though. The Chicken Curry I had was fabulous. I think I had it prepared medium, as opposed to mild or hot. It was great. I bet you will like it if you like ethnic foods and a little spice. Diversity in life is what makes it fun!

I am a former chef and a big Indian food lover, just make sure to ask about the foods, and there spice levels, if you like it a bit spicy ask for medium, but otherwise mild is best.

I would order a variety of things depending on your tastes and your wifes likes, I would recommend a meat curry (chicken is the most desired), a veg one like Channa Dal (Chickpeas), Aloo Gobi (a potato and cauliflower one), Paneer (a cheese based one with either peas or spinach) basmati rice, a naan bread and for dessert either the Kehir (rice pudding) or Gulab Jaman (a fried doughnut like dish, soaked ina flavourful syrup), tea and ask about there Mango lassi.

If you haven't eaten Indian food then ask the waiter to prepare your food with mild/ medium spice.
Order a yogurt sauce to cool down your food in case even that is too spicy.
Don't drink carbonated drink with your meal... it will only make stuff worse. Order tea/ water/ lemonade. Or order a yogurt shake (lassi) if it gets too spicy. Also the best way to get the spicyness out of your mouth is not water (it will just swish the spices around in your mouth). It is better to take a few bites of plain rice with yogurt/ plain naan (flat bread)
Indian food is meant to be eaten family style it's more fun that way so order 2-3 curries and share.
This is opinion but Hindus know how to make the best vegetarian Indian food but Muslims cook the best meat dishes so if you want a lot of meat look for a Muslim Indian restaurant.

it matters what she likes..
she might come out and love it or hate it , but i wouldnt make it a suprise..ask her if she would like to go

i acutally love indian and south asian food its cus im into all the diferent types of spices they use its great

If she dose not like hot and spicy foods than that will be a nightmare, but if she does i think it will be OK.
