Spicy tuna rolls, tatake tuna sashimi, albacore sashimi, dragon roll, rainbow roll...my faves....I like it all though...if your avoiding raw...then maybe a shrimp tempura roll....try to get out of the cali roll "box" there is way much more than that...i don't consider that sushi...its just the gateway :)

how about shrimp!!

Suhi?

Do you mean Sushi? If so, we like the tuna and crab best.

Try a philadelphia roll, its got cream cheese in it. Its good

Yam tempura is very good and delicous. Cucumber roll, avocado roll, vegetable roll. Misso Soup is also good!

albacore tuna and yellowtail both taste similar to chicken in my opinion, salmon tastes like cooked salmon, and shrimp. these are all my favories, just realize the texture will be different of raw fish, if you worried try the first few pieces dipped in a ton of soy sauce til you get used the to texture. Also any rolls is good tot he rainbow role or crunchy role.

my favorite things are the spicy scallop rolls(although they arent really spicy at all) and crunchy lobster rolls. the scallop rolls are california rolls with raw scallop and a "spicy" sauce on top. the lobster rolls have crab and cooked lobster in them. i cant remember what else. but those are REALLY good. i never eat sushi without getting those!

Try some Sosueme

Expensive but gets you every time

oh go for the fish or if they have octopus
sorry but Eel and squid are my absolute FAVs

try tempura, and some sake :o)

In Japanese cuisine, sushi is vinegared rice, usually topped with other ingredients including fish (cooked or uncooked) and vegetables. Outside of Japan, sushi is sometimes misunderstood to mean the raw fish by itself, or even any fresh raw-seafood dishes. In Japan, sliced raw fish alone is called sashimi and is distinct from sushi, as sashimi is the raw fish component, not the rice component.

I know most beople don't appreciate Wikipedia ,but see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sushi for an interesting description of different sushi forms or types.

There are various types of sushi: sushi served rolled inside nori (dried and pressed layer sheets of seaweed or alga) called makizushi or rolls; sushi made with toppings laid with hand-formed clumps of rice called nigirizushi; toppings stuffed into a small pouch of fried tofu called inarizushi; and toppings served scattered over a bowl of sushi rice called chirashi-zushi

If you're not big on raw sushi then I suggest ordering udon noodles, tempura or a bento box (which has a little bit of everything- salad, miso soup, noodles or rice, tempura and a piece or two of CA roll). If you're curious about raw sushi I would start off with a mild fish first- tuna is an excellent choice as it's not an overpowering "fishy" flavor a simple tuna roll with wasabi and perhaps a little soy sauce can be quite nice. If you're feeling more adventurous and you like a strong "fishy" flavor try going with a salmon- the philly roll mentioned earlier is good option as the cream cheese kind of mellows the intense salmon flavor. I enjoy raw sushi but I really have to be in a mood for it- most of the time I order tempura, or a shrimp tempura roll (imagine a CA roll but w/ a fried tempura shrimp in it instead of avocado).

Happy Eating!

once again sushi is vinegared rice not raw seafood . sashimi is raw seafood . just in case . i would not go into a rest. and order a salad + expect a soup . people are so used to hearing this sushi thing they just don't know , next time you go into a place like that order sashimi , they will think you know what your talking about

Try the tekka maki and kappa maki (tuna roll and cucumber roll) and the ebi (shrimp) definitely. Philadelphia and rainbow rolls are good. Branch out to the salmon skin handroll and soft shell crab. FYI sushi is the fish plus the rice, sashimi is the the raw fish...
