Where to buy tortilla land uncooked flour tortillas?!
Answers: Any one know where the tortilla land uncooked flour tortillas are available , except costco as there is no costco here in wichita. Any online store would be good too. I had tasted them when i went to visit my brother and they tasted great. any help would be appreciated.
Check the Mexican Food Markets on west 13th street. If they do not have them they probably know where to get them.
Flour tortillas don't come uncooked. If they did, then it would be just a ball of dough. (I've never seen uncooked flour tortillas).
Try buying a tortilla press. It comes with instructions and recipes. The dough is REALLY easy to make! Amazon has them. They're pretty cheap.
I'm sorry but that's a new one for me. Maybe you could make them your self? They will be great...
Flour, baking powder, salt, lard.
Mix and add warm water to make a dough. Break off round balls the size of golf balls. Roll out to the size of dinner plates. Bake on a griddle until lightly brown, turn and do the same for the other side. Keep warm until all are done.
I use to waitress at a greek / lebanese cafe and customers would buy raw ingredients from up that they could not find themselves. Maybe you can do the same or at least they can tell you ow to go about it.
Yeah I met a lady in Costco who said she used to get them there, but I haven't seen any, so it doesn't matter that there isn't one near you.
I think you should look for standard, cooked ones (that's how they usually are sold, anyway). You don't want to be eating raw dough.
"Mission" is one brand I've seen on both east and west coasts though I've never been to Wichita.
Ask at your local supermarkets. If you have any Mexican food stores, try there as well. If you can't find tortillas, look for "wraps".
In my supermarkets, wraps are usually in the deli/bread section and tortillas are generally in their own display at the end of an aisle or sometimes at one end of the bread aisle.
I just had another thought: Maybe in the deli section or the breads section your supermarkets carry something called "lavash". If it's hard like a cracker, it can be soaked in water to soften for use as a wrap. Some stores carry it in a soft, flexible form. It is quite large so you would need to tear or cut off as much as you want at any given time.
I bought mine at cost co I thought they tasted great!! do you have a Sam's near you? I hear they are like cost co.
I'd send you some, but they have to stay cold.
