Before the Chinese started using spoons, how did they eat the last few grains of rice with chopsticks?!

Question: I think it's impossible, especially on a plate, and I'm wondering how the Chinese dealt with that.

they ever did

legend has it they got so mad they squinted at the rice until it jumped into their mouths

and thats y we have so many car accidents

lol

jk about the driving thing

with bowls

I think they licked the bowl.

tongues.

hehe i can do that! (pick the last few grains of rice)

but i'm not Chinese :] i'm Korean~~~

probably lifted the plate to their face and licked it off... idk. amybe they just left them there :]

using the chopstick to sweep the rice into their mouths.

ther chinese are really good at using chopsticks.

With thier hands duh!
wth you think god gaves us hands for?!

with rice espeacially they tip up the plate or bowl and basically drink all the rice

they weren't eating off plates, but out of bowls.

they scrape the last few grains out ( with sauce) using chopsticks.

They would lick the plate or suck em up through a straw.

Mr. Miagi (from the Karate Kid) could catch a fly with chop sticks -lol- anything is possible.

Uhhh Just don't eat it. I'm sure they weren't that gready as to eat every grain of rice.

Lift a bowl or plate to your lips and scrape or scoop with chopsticks and you can eat even to the last grain of rice.....no problem!

Hahahaha i'm chinese but i've never ate rice with chopsticks! That's pure madness.

Lol.. i dont know. They lick the plate?

hehehe.

with their hands ....

probably fingers.. or they are just really good with using chopsticks.. lol.. HOPE THIS HELPS! :)

they lifted the bowl/plate to their faces and swept the rive in I think, but then again, they are masters of their own utensils.

Well they used bowls and if they were really that desperate for three grains of rice they would scrape it out with the chopsticks into their mouth I guess they will do the sane thing with plates too

It is polite to leave the last few grains to show that you've had enough to eat and that your hunger has been satisfied.

not impossible. chinese people eat their rice out of a bowl. chinese rice is more glutinous than the typical white rice eaten in america, so it is stickier. when eating, they hold the chopsticks in one hand and the bowl in the other. to get the last few grains of rice out of the bowl, the bowl is held up to the mouth and the chopsticks are used to shove rice out of the bowl and into their mouths.

They don't actually use them like you think. They use them as shovels, or scoops. They hold the plate or bowels up to thier mouth and scoop the rice with the chop sticks. So they can get the last bit no problem. I've done this myself, so I know it works.

maybe they didn't eat it and maybe that's why you get so much food when you order Chinese coz they have bigger portions coz they cant get it all with there chopsticks

what i want to know is how the hell they ate soup

They put the bowls near their mouths so they can use the chopsticks to kind of slide the rice into their mouth.

The Chinese eat rice from small rice bowls, pushing the rice grains into their mouths with chopsticks.

The rice is sticky so no grains were ever left on the plate.
