Where can I buy bacillus to make yogurt?!

Question: I mean the bacillus that make sour yogurt, they look like cottage cheese and have to be fed with fresh milk?
I have not seen this at Whole Foods.
I don't want to use a batch of yogurt to make more yogurt.
Thank you.

Try a health food store they have the capsules in there refrigerated section, acidodphilis is fine to, I don't use either I use the culture froma tub of plain Balkan or Greek yougart, you just heat/warm the milk and if you like a higher fat content one a bit of cream/evaporated milk to blood temp (98.6), then you add in the yougart, not one with gelatin an all natural unflavoured one, then I portion it in 6 oz ramekins, I have a plastic container in put them in and place it on top of my frig near the back overnight, you can make creme fraiche the same way with whipping cream and buttermilk.

In the morning I do this at 3-4 pm in the afternoon so it has 12-18 hours to sit, I then put them in the frig to firm and chill. If you not going to make a huge or large amount do it this way, a small tub or indivdual cup will cost no more than 75 cent to $2.00 for the yougart.

I know them well, my mother had them at home when I was a kid, and we would drink a nice glass of yogurt every night before bed. They are called lactobacillus.

The natural/organic food store here where I live has it. Do you know of one where you live?

If you have an Indian store around, go and take a look cause they use it a lot.
Or check online:

I usually just but store bought yogurt

sorry, but i am not familiar with buying bacteria to put into yogurt.

Best bet is to check a health food store.

Hope that helps!

Go to health food websites and find a health store near you, or lead you to a weblink to purchase yogurt starter online.

search for an indin restaurant ,they make stuff with yogurt so they might give u some ,even free. boil milk, wait till it is lukewarm, then add this mixture to the milk mix nicely with spoon, keep inside the oven or any closed area do not move it ,u will have thick curd after 8-10 hrs,in winter it may be needed that u warm the oven a bit around 200 and keep it
