What foods have preservatives in them ?!

Question: What types of foods have preservatives in them ?

Answers: What types of foods have preservatives in them ?

Practically everything--even fresh vegetables and fruits are being irradiated to preserve them. Frozen foods have preservatives in them as well. Fresh meat also gets treated to preserve its color.

Either go to a fresh produce market, or directly to a farmstead if you want untreated foods or buy organically grown foods.

Whole eggs, cheeses and freshly baked breads are usually untreated. Many jams, jellies, pickles, olives--that sort of thing have no preservatives other than vinegar for the pickles.

Dried beans, peas, rice and pastas are often preservative free. You will need to learn to read labels to be sure what is in the products that you want to buy.

pretty much anything on the shelf or freezer dept in the grocery store.

Most foods that are not fresh or frozen.

Anything that's processed. That is, comes in a can, frozen, bag (think chips, pretzels), etc.

anything straight from the garden or freshly butchered meat do not have preservatives in them. Most people consider chemicals they can't pronounce a preservative but salt and sugar are preservatives too.
