Anyone like Dim Sum?!

Question: I am fond of Chinese food in general, but dim sum is great!

Answers: I am fond of Chinese food in general, but dim sum is great!

yes, i love dim sum. I use to live in the SF bay area where there's dim sum everywhere. Now I have to drive three hours just to get to one. I love dim sum and i miss it! My faves: pork shu mai, radish cakes, shrimp shu mai, etc etc etc!

I've had it quite a few times and have never enjoyed it (much to my dismay). Maybe I need to keep trying different places until I find somplace I like.

I like Chinese food too, but not Dim Sum.

It is the best.

Yummy-o! Dim Sum Buffet in Beijing s excellent!
Only problem, 1 hour later, I'm hungry again!

It's fantastic! I wish we had a place here - if only one of these chinese buffet places would do Dim Sum I would be a happy girl. We used to go to a place called "Lucky House" in Windsor Canada when I lived up north. I think they are closed now. We recently went to Hawaii and our friends took us for some there and it rocked! There is nothing more fun than sitting at a table with some friends and trying to guess what you are being offered and dealing with the results of your choiuces! LOL I bought the Dim Sum book from the Essential Kitchen books, and I like to make flower dumplings, shanghai dumplings, and cook-and-sell dumplings at home. You can cut up all the ingredients ahead of time (much of the same ingredients in each, just in different amounts) and have friends come over and assemble them before cooking them up - then just eat each thing as it comes off the steamer. But it is not quite as fun as hanving something new or strange appear at the table and deciding who is going to try it first and watching their face - delight usually, but we are always waiting for disgust! LOL Chicken feet - hilarious! Pork buns - great! Something amazing and no one on staff can translate what it is? - Perfect.

I love dim sum but there is only one restaurant in town that serves it. I used to drive to Canada occasionally to get it but it's kind of a hassle.
My favorites are char siu chung faan (bbq pork noodle rolls), char siu bau (bbq pork buns), and daan tat (egg custard tarts).

oh yes!

*Like them ? I just loooove them !!!
Yummy !!!!

I love Dim Sum. It is so fun because they bring the food to you and you get to select it from the rolling carts. There isn't a waiter (except the guy that brings you water) so you don't have to tack on 15% to the bill.

"Dim Sum" means "snack" in Cantonese. It comes in different shapes, sizes and taste. Could be sweet, could be cold, could be warm.

It is delicious, for sure

I love the idea of getting to try just a little of lots of things. That is great. I wasn't brave enough to try chicken feet....I had to draw a line somewhere.

Yes I love Dim Sum very much.

Very much! I would prefer eating all dim sum than having those other chinese entrees. I especially like the ones with shrimp. Pork Dim Sum is good as well. I despise Shark's Fin Dim Sum. Save those poor creatures.

Love!
but please find good dim sum restaurants! good dim sum chef is hard to come by - you will notice a HUGE difference when you visit an authentic dim sum restaurants in chinese district. my brother-in-law is caucasion and he absolutely loves chinese food, particularly dim sum. he always think he knows dim sum until he visited us in Southern California. now he's all depressed because he miss the food here...

Yes of course.
There are so many I like e.g. Har Gow (steamed shrimp dumpling), Shue Mie (steamed pork shrimp dumpling), Cha Siu Pow ( steamed BBQ Pork Bun), and many more
