Deep Fried Food-What's the strangest you've eaten?!
I'll start-how about battered deep-fried dill pickles? (Missouri)
Also, a "curly dog", which was simply a hot dog that is scored with a knife on the outside. It curls when its deep fried.
Answers: Reading the posting below about deep-fried Mars Bars (sounds yummy), made me wonder, what's the strangest items you've had that were deep-fried? Cmon fellow Americans, we have the strangest carnival food, but are there even more bizarre items worldwide?

I went to the State Fair of Texas last fall and had Fried Guacamole Bites (scoop of guacamole, breaded and fried, served with ranch dressing or salsa), Fried Sweet Potato Pie (pie filling inside flour tortilla, fried and topped with powdered sugar and cinnamon), and Fried Chili Frito Burrito (chili and Fritos inside flour tortilla, fried and topped with choice of cheese sauce, shredded cheddar, jalapenos, sour cream, hot sauce, and onions). Other years, I had Fried Mac 'n Cheese, and a Fried Twinkie.
theres deep fried cadbury creme eggs,and deep fried pizza. never eaten any of it,but thought id share with you.

lol! i've heard of deep fried pickles. up at my friend's cottage in canada, the family deepfries anything. the perogies were pretty good actually. strange, but good. :D

Deep-fried beef small intestines. Really! They are called tripas and they are fried and served in a corn tortilla. If you ever go to a mexican food cart at a flea market they will be their big sellers.

I used to serve deep fried dill pickles, zuchinni, baked potato peels, you name it. They're good! So are turkey testicles. I was a little wary at first, but they were great when you didn't think about what you were eating. Here at home I did deep fried asparagus and green beans once and it was amazing with an aioli.

I've had the fried pickles - not impressed. My favorites were tripe (beef intesine) and ice cream - just not together please.
When in Scotland about 20 years ago, after a night of pub crawling, we stopped into this fish and chip shop at 3 am, and I had deep fried Haggis in batter, with chips (fries) and doused in a sweet spicy curry sauce like gravy.
