why do they call a doctor, mister? it is just one of those cultural differences keep in mind they been around a lot longer than we have.
Yeah and why do they call Germans "Hun's" when they could use the old Nazi term "Storm-Troopers", or haven't you seen their quest for the first lounge chair in sight.
Same reason those in various parts of the US ask for any of the following when meaning the same thing! Sub, grinder, torpedo, hoagies, etc.
