Why is the food in the Korean restaurants in the US so bad?!
Answers: When I was in Jon Ju, South Korea, the food was great. However, the food that I have eaten at Korean restaurantrs in the US has never been good.
People here can't handle the spice, so it is always much more bland. And, I think cracking the raw egg into the soup doesn't go over well with North Americans. Small differences like that add up.
It really depends on where you go. The food in Korea is truly authentic, here they may serve generic versions on what their food is like.. my step-grandmother is Korean so I get the good stuff...
Because it's not real Korean food, it's Americanized so the Americans will eat it and like it. Just like most Chinese restaurants don't serve real Chinese food.
I have a lot of Korean friends and I always loved their food. So good!
If you mean good tasting? its because over there in korea or Jon Ju there are REAL koreans making your food, therefor its going to taste REAL and DELICOUS! but over here in america, since not many koreans live here, let alone work for a korean buisness. The food is made my americans which is obviously NOT going to taste as good as the real stuff.
BUT! if you meant "bad" as in unhealthy, its just because people tend to change up recipes when they get sent across all over the world, and since korea is FAR from the U.S. the recipes and such are bound to get changed up...making the food taste a little different.
Where do you live? There are some excellent Korean restaurants, they are just out numbered by the crappy ones.
Same with every type of food.
Because you go to restaurants that only care to make money, not satisfy customers. It's the story with many restaurants.
Another issue is often that they cannot make their ingredients fresh here so they import them from overseas and obviously flavor is lost due to perservation.

the "steak" in korea is like hamburger meat
really, the barbeque galbi here(US) doesnt really exist in korea.
