Chinese food question??!!?!
Answers: is the broccoli with garlic sauce good? i used to get the brown sauce but now i want to try the garlic sauce..? whats the difference... opinions please!!!!
yes!! it's really good! they serve it at a local chinese restaurant in my town and i eat it all the time at a buffet! but your breath doesn't smell so good afterwards so be sure to carry a pack of mints!
its okay.. I really don't like Chinese food anymore.. Too much sodium, mono sodium glutamate and fat.. Thai and Japanese is better for you..
Garlic will give you a totally new taste sensation.
The brown sauce is probably soy, and is often used in conjunction with garlic.
The best way to taste the difference would be to do a taste test.
your should try some authentic chinese food, you know the food is authentic if you see asians that work in the restaurant and if alot of asians eat there if not don't go.
it is delicious and a delightful change from your usual brown sauce!!!
the brown sauce could be any combination of ingredients...
It would contain all or some of the following: soy sauce, sesame oil, a little sugar, oyster sauce, garlic, ginger and maybe bean paste.
Also, for the answer by matahari, about not liking Chinese food because of the sodium and MSG. hahaha!
Thai and Japanese are high in sodium. MSG is also common. In fact, Japan is the #1 maker and user of MSG. The Japanese add MSG to almost everything, especially mayonnaise.
You silly girl.
Chinese garlic sauce is intense. If you especially like garlic you will love it, but eating a whole plate of it might be too much if you're not a big fan of garlic to begin with. You can tell the restaurant how spicy you want it; not very spicy, medium, or very spicy. That's for the garlic sauce.
I guess it's ok, i like szeshuan chicken/beef/shrimp too.
Garlic sauce is "usually" garlic with some hoi-sin (bean) sauce mixed in. Really brings on flavor of your dish. Cook on high heat but only for a couple of minutes. If you are cooking meat that needs to cook for longer than that, cook the meat first and add the sauce in the last few minutes. Garlic is great but becomes slightly bitter if allowed to cook too long.
never had the brown sauce, but the garlic sauce is quite tasty!!!! The spicier, the better.
