Answers: Pinoys/Pinays, puwede ba bigyan mo ako isang sarap sarap nang recipe para tocino.
Maraming maraming salamat.
pork, brown sugar, pineapple juice, salt...
marinate overnight
boil in about 1/4 cup water until water evaporates then add oil to stir fry until brown
It is hard to tell here in Cebu, they don't sell many individual spices here.
They do sell a Tocino mix though.
It is only the powdered spices, you just add water and marinade the meat (pork, beef, or my favirite, chicken) overnight in the refrigerator and cook it or freeze it for later.
I did learn something tonight thanks to the answer from the nice lady below me. I never knew how simple or cheap it was to make!
If you like, I could send you a couple of packets if you will send me a couple of tubes of Afterbite for mosquito bites.
We can't get that here.
Just e-mail me from my profile if you are interested.
It's tocino, not toceno. Try pinoyrecipe.net
:O i wish i spoke tagalog.. i understand though..
SOmeone else already said it.. Or you can go to an asian store, and look for tocino seasoning.. thats what i do.
INGREDIENTS:
2 pounds pork chops or pork loin with fat, sliced into 1/4-inch-thick strips
2 tablespoons salt
4 tablespoons sugar
1/8 teaspoon saltpeter (sold in Oriental food stores)
2 tablespoons anise wine or red wine
2 tablespoons anatto water
cooking oil
In a shallow pan, combine all the ingredients except the pork. Sprinkle each piece of pork with the mixture, making sure distributions is even. In a bowl, pile the pork pieces one on top of the other. Cover and keep refrigerated for 3 days to cure.
To cook, put a little water in a skillet and add the pork pieces. Fry the pork until done.
