Where to find Wasabi?!
Answers: Hubby and I love the flavor of Wasabi! Can't find it at the grocery store-any suggestions? How do I buy it? Does it come dry or can I buy it already to go?
Hey im glad to find someone who likes the unique flavor of wasabi. If you want to get really good wasabi get it in the powder form because the powder doesnt have any addatives in it. but if you really want to buy the paste go to http://www.mountfuji.co.uk/wasabi.htm prety good selection hope this helps.
At any local grocery store, just look in the oriental section. If not, you could even try a local restaurant. It's usually ready to go!
There's a good chance there will be some!
It comes in a tube (like green toothpaste) and you can find it in the oriental foods or where you find mustard and hot sauce!
grocery/asian stores
At the grocery store they sell it in tin cans or at the Bulk Food Store.
OH I LOVE WASABI TOO!! HAHAH
UM IF YOU HAVE SOME ASIAN SUPERMARKET NEARBY
YOU COULD CHECK OUT THERE, AND SURELY ITS ALWAYS THERE.
I THINK I SAW SOME WASABIS ON LOCAL GROCERY STORES......CHECK ON LIKE THE SAUCE SECTIONS PERHAPS..?
ITS PROBABLY IN A LITTLE RECTANGULARISH BOX AND SOME JAPANESE WRITINGS OUTSIDE..;]<3
Wasabi paste can be found in the international section at alot of grocery stores. It comes in a little plastic tube, kind of like tooth paste. Chances are you will only find imitation wasabi, which is basically horseradish that is dyed green. Even in Japan, true wasabi is somewhat rare and expensive.
Try any Japanese super markets or maybe even Chinatown might have it. Ummm, you can buy them as powders or ready to go.
You usually cannot buy wasabi in the US or the UK... what sushi restaurants serve you is horseradish paste with green dye in it...
If you want actual wasabi, you can get it in the USA here:

Or in the U.K. here:
.................(sorry! couldn't find any!)
I always see it at Albertson's..
I would try the International food isle, or Oriental food isle. If you can't find it there, try places like China Town (I know wasabi is Japanese but you can find it in some Chinese places), or, I tried this once, go to a Japanese restaurant, and buy it from them.
They have wasabi in the international food aisle at my local grocery store (Kroger). You could also look for an asian market or store around your area. There is always the possiblity of buying it online too.
