Are sausage's/bratwurst in cased in intestines?!
Answers: My boyfriend and a few other people told me this, I was wondering if its true, I really would like to know because I do not want to eat something that once harbored waste( I do not care if it is cleaned its still grosses me out!). I tryed searching this on the internet but didn't really find any solid answers
Sausages traditionally were/are packed in intestines. However, nowadays, it's becoming more common to use other synthetic casings made from collagen, cellulose or other things. This is particularly true for large manufacturers. Smaller manufacturers or people who make sausages themselves would more likely still use intestines. If you're buying sausages from the large grocery store, most likely you dont have to worry about it
Most sausages and natural skin hotdogs are cased using intestines. Today they are making more that are not. If you dont want to eat something that has been exposed to waste you should become a vegan because most meat products have been.
Traditionally yes! But if you buy a major brand at the supermarket, ie- johnsonville, than no.
if it says "natural casing" on the package it is definitely intestine
The real thing is, yes. My mom used to make sausages and I remember the casings, yuk. After reading about the sodium, fat and trans fat in a sausage, you couldn't pay me to eat another one.
Yes, but these days many use some form of digestable plastics. For large volume production it's not that cheap to use natural guts!
I can't bother to search my sausage file ( I have several)
BECAUSE
yes
? ? ?Sorry the most savory foods JUST may be gross..
BUT
Please remember this is been the way it is for Thousands of years and man has utilized ,,Rather than waste,, the animal..
Your opinion is fine.
Just wrong in mine..
Yes, it's true.
Sausage casing are cleaned out intestines.
Why would you have a problem with it if you've been eating it all this time and liked it?
It's still the same product, except your grossing yourself out by being a drama queen.
In the olden days yes. and some traditional places, yes. but not the ones at the supermarket.
High quality sausages yes, low quality no. There is nothing better for a sausage than a bowel.
