Since you are new at eating sushi, I sugguest you try the California Rolls, which is an all cooked sushi which consists of rice, cooked crab meat, and a piece of avcado wrapped around the traditional seaweed. I also sugguest buying teriyki chicken if aren't a big fan of sushi itself.

get the philidelphia cream cheese rolls its goot :D

Temaki sushi with crab and avocado
or
Temaki-Sushi and cucumber
or play it safe and stick to
the California Rolls

The Nigiri sushi's are delicious but if you aren't a fan of raw fish then refrain from this kind.

Hosomaki-sushi with carrots and cucumbers are another safe bet.

Smoked Salmon and Avocado is a good choice for tasty, yet not too extravagant. Terriyaki chicken is a second favourite, however, sometimes it can turn out to be a bit dry. I'm not sure whether this is just the case of the way its made or the combination of rice and chicken. Obviously, soy sauce does add to the flavour to make it sweeter, so add away! Cheers

Dragon roll - it's my favorite!

For a new sushi eater, I would recommend the California Roll. It's cooked crab, avocado, and cucumber wrapped with seaweed and rice. You could also try the tofu skin stuffed with rice (sorry I don't know the exact name); it's very good and not to "hardcore" like nigiri (raw fish on a little ball of rice). If sushi is not your thing, the restraunt will most likely have a large array of terryaki entrees to choose from. I recommend either the chicken or the salmon, and some restaurants have terryaki steak too. You can also try the tempura. It's basically any vegetable or shrimp dipped in tempura batter and fried. It's very crispy and absolutely delicious! I guess if you're really not into any of this stuff, you could get some miso soup which consists of tofu, seaweed, miso paste, all simmered in a stock. This is also very yummy.

Anyways, hope this helped :D

Eel roll all the way. It is sweet, savory, and oh so yummy.
