I am about to be a nanny for a Jewish family... any kosher recipes... kid friendly would be appreciated!?!

Question: you can cook for them literally anything but it has to follow the kosher dietary laws:
No Milk and Meat together
No Pork
and depending on the family they might only eat certain type of milk ask them if they eat " OUD or Chalav Yisroel" Oud can be found on dairy items and that states its kosher (stuff like chocolate and candy) However, they could eat Chalav Yisroel( translation: Jewish Milk) This kind of dairy is much stricter so u have to look for the sign. ask them

anyways im going so off topic. main thing is that what u buy, EVERYTHING you buy meets to their kosher standard.

and you can make anything for them, anything you'd make for a non jewish family woould be the same

heres some ideas:
colorful pasta
mac and cheese
ice cream sundas
rice crispies
homemade ice cream cookies
chocolate covered bannans
pbj sandwitch
popcorn
veggies and fun dip
nut and fruit mix
cold cut sandwiches
etc

good luck

hmm i just answered this but don't see a reply
my answer basically said that so long as you buy kosher ingrediants, you can essentially make anything kosher...
one example i gave was rice krispie squares
use rice krispies which are kosher but instead of marshmallows, you have to either find kosher ones or use kosher marshmallow fluff..
i also recommended, purchasing or borrowing from a library the cook books: the kosher palet (sp?) and kosher by design which both my mom and I like to use.

Jewish families differ about keeping kosher. Have you talked to them yet about their practices?

Some families are very strict about never mixing dairy and meat. Some even have separate dishes and dishwashers for meat dishes

Some Jewish families don't keep kosher at all, while others avoid pork and shellfish, but aren't strict about making sure that all meats or other ingredients are kosher.

I'm sure the family will teach you their practices and share the recipes for their kids favorite foods.

Enjoy your new job!
